Overview
A registered trademark gives you exclusive rights over your brand name, logo or slogan for the goods or services it is registered for. Registration is done under the Trade Marks Act, 1999 by filing Form TM-A with the Trade Marks Registry.
The process involves trademark search, class selection, filing, examination, publication in the Trade Marks Journal, a four-month opposition period and finally registration. Registration is valid for 10 years and can be renewed indefinitely.
